Q. When will the booklists be available on your website?
Booklists will be made available as soon they are authorised by the respective schools.
Q. DLS Secondary - What are ERM items on the booklist? Do I need them?
ERM stands for Extra Resource Materials. These are handouts and worksheets prepared by the teacher and will be given to the student throughout the scholastic year. The different ERM subjects required by the student will depend on his choice of subjects.
Q. What is the difference between Book Covers Top Up and All?
Book Covers All is a prepared pack of covers which contains all the required A2 Exercise Book covers that are available within the Stationery Pack.
Book Covers Top Up is also a prepared pack, but this takes into consideration previous year covers and only make available the difference between years. For example, for a student going from Year 3 to Year 4, if 4 blue covers are needed for Year 4 and 3 blue covers where made available in Year 3, only 1 blue cover will be provided.
Q. What is the contents of the Stationery Pack?
This is a prepared pack of stationery items recommended by the Teacher that will be used by the student throughout the year which would mainly consist on exercise books, project books, filing material etc. The contents will vary depending on the Level of the student. In general, these Stationery Packs will not contain pencils, rubbers, rulers, and alike items which would be left over from previous years.
Q. What is the contents of the Art Kit Pack?
This is a prepared pack of stationery items recommended by the Art teacher that will be used by the student throughout the year. This would nominally contain drawing books, different graded pencils, rubber, ruler, glue stick and De La Salle Art Pouch.
Q. What is the contents of the Art Kit Refill?
The Art refill only is an art stationery pack which replace consumable stationery from previous years.
Q. Do I need to buy all books as New?
Textbooks do not have to be purchased new, however, workbooks need to be new as students will not be allowed to have books with workout answers.
Q. How can I sell used books?
You are able to sell your used textbooks through our outlet. The process is simply – (1) bring the used textbooks to our store during opening hours, (2) these textbooks need to have labels and covers removed, (3) we will select those textbooks which are still in use, (4) we will then try to sell these textbooks throughout the summer sales and you will get the repayment after November.
Q. How and why do you grade the books?
We grade the books depending on the condition. MINT books while have No Scribbling and No tears, GOOD books might have some scribbling, FAIR books would be the most used.
Q. How much money can I save when buying used textbooks?
Saving on used textbooks depends on the grade of the book. A MINT condition book will be 40%, GOOD condition will be 50%, and FAIR will be 60%. The percentage discount is calculated on the recommended retail price of the book..
Q. How much money can I make from selling used textbooks?
The better the condition of the book, the more money you will make. Schola Direct charges a 20% processing fee on the book, and the remaining percentage is passed on to the owner of the book. For example, for a book in MINT condition, this will be sold at 40%, and you as the owner will receive 40% of the original recommended retail price.
Q. Do you accept all textbooks?
We only accept textbooks which are still in use in the current scholastic year. Our trained staff will sort these books out for you, so no need to worry.
Q. Do you accept workbooks?
We only accept workbooks which do not have exercises completed.
Q. When do you bring Used textbooks for deposit?
We start collecting textbooks in Mid-June. Stay tuned on our Facebook Page or website as we will announce it.
Q. When will I get paid for the Used textbooks left on deposit?
We close off the deposit season each year by October. You can start collecting the money from the sold books as of November. Alternatively, you can leave the amount on account and use the value in store for an additional 5% on the value.
Q. How can I collect the unsold books?
If you would like to collect unsold books, you will need to inform us by email or phone. We will then prepare books which have not been sold and we will contact you to collect them. Unfortunately, we will not be able to collect the unsold books whilst you wait. Once you collect these books, they cannot be deposited in following years.
Q. When will you deliver to my locality?
We deliver throughout Malta and Gozo on specific dates. Kindly check the date and time of delivery within our Delivery Section.
Q. Is there a delivery charge?
Deliveries are free for orders above eu50, alternatively a delivery charge of eu10 applies.
Q. What happens if I miss my delivery appointment?
If you miss your appointment, no worries. We contact you and reschedule for another date and time.
Q. Will I know the total bill before delivery?
Once your order would have been processed and we will send you the total bill via email and send a SMS with the details. You can then prepare a cheque or cash. Unfortunately, we do not accept Card transactions on delivery.
Q. How do I order a delivery for my books?
When placing an order, simply select YES for delivery and include your preferred delivery address.

Q. How can I order Used textbooks? What if I do not like the condition of the books?
When placing your order, you will have the option to select whether you would like to have Used textbooks if available. If Yes, you can select condition of books you would like us to try and source for you within your order.
Q. Can the books be covered?
Yes. We offer a book covering service at a charge of 65c for small, 75c for medium and 1eu for large. Most books fall within the small and medium range, and it usually takes about 5-10min to cover a complete list of books.
